More than a dozen volunteers helped clear rubbish and a jungle of undergrowth in Upper Norwood joint library car park.
The clean up was led by Anna Kostyrina of Crystal Palace Transition Town's Palace 'Pick Up' Initiative and member of Upper Norwood Library Trust Robert Gibson.
Mr Gibson said of the clear up: "A fantastic amount was achieved by the community who rallied round to sort out the library car park.
"The next step is to great a small garden with seating and flower beds."
