The brother of a murdered rapper has been warned he faces jail after pleading guilty to robbing unsuspecting bank customers.

Amir Tufail pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery when he appeared at Croydon Crown Court this morning.

The 19-year-old’s brother Umar, 25, was shot in the head moments after getting into his car outside the family home in Wharncliffe Road, South Norwood, on July 15 last year.

Last month, Sanchez Thomas and Kyrone Daley, who had a running feud with Amir, were jailed for his murder.

The court heard today Tufail, along with his accomplices Stephen Crawford, 18 and Jermaine Mclean 19, were accused of carrying out three robberies on May 22 and 23 and June 19 last year.

Prosecutor Andrew Ramsubhag, said: "What they would do is some would stay in the bank watching customers who were either depositing or withdrawing money.

"They would be on their phones and using their hands free they would inform the others and when the customer left the bank they would be robbed of their money."

Tufail, of Beaconfield Road, Streatham, and McLean of Antigua Walk, Crystal Palace, pleaded guilty to the robberies on May 22 and 23.

Tufail pleaded not guilty to one count of robbery on June 19, 2012 and the prosecution offered no evidence in relation to that charge.
