A Surrey adult social care website has been relaunched after an upgrade and is now featuring a text messaging service.

The website, surreyinformationpoint.org.uk, runs listings of the county’s nursing homes and home care operators.

People can also find the data on the social services provided by a large number of organisations, charities and communities groups.

Users can now text the required information to their mobile phones.

The website was created in 2011 by the county council, NHS Surrey and Social Information on Disability.

Michael Gosling, Surrey County Council’s cabinet member for adult social care and health, said: “The new features will make it even easier for users find the information that can help them or those they care for make informed decisions about their lives.”

In addition to the website, a social care helpline is available on 0300 2001005.
