The creative theme for Streatham Festival 2013 is 'The Glamour Days', in celebration of Streatham’s rich heritage of people, architecture, arts and culture.

With the theme decided, the Streatham Festival Association (SFA) is now looking for unique and inclusive proposals for both its flagship event and suggestions for artistic and cultural activities to take place during the four day event scheduled for next July.

SFA is calling on artists, arts organisations, community groups, schools, colleges and venues to attend its event partner meeting at Hideaway from 7pm to 9pm on December 12.

The meeting is open to individuals and organisations with an interest in the arts and local businesses looking to become involved next year. Those who attend will have the opportunity to find out more about the Streatham Festival, share ideas and ask questions.

Chix Chandaria, Chair, Streatham Festival Association says: “Last year’s festival received a fantastic response and took the artistic element of the event to a whole new level.

"Local artists, such as the Ninja Knitters and The Chalkers, provided something which appealed to all ages and the Sparks Fly performance from Emergency Exit Arts provided a breathtaking finale that had people talking for days afterwards.

"We’re looking for artists and groups who can help us repeat this success and raise the bar even higher in 2013.”

The Streatham Festival, in its 12th year, is an accessible arts festival which celebrates local talent and showcases a mix of emerging and established artists. It aims to encourage the creative use of the wide range of Streatham-based venues and to appeal to all ages and sections of the area’s eclectic community.
