Youngsters are setting up a new campaign to help get trams to Crystal Palace.

It follows a call at the recent young people's question time for the project to be given funding by the Mayor of London.

Croydon youngsters said how the new link would make journeys to and from school and to out-of-school activities easier and safer.

They think it is important that local people and businesses have a chance to say how much they support the extension of the Tramlink.

Youth Parliament member Javell Nelson, who lives in South Norwood, which would be linked to Crystal Palace if the new line was approved, said: “This is an important issue, and is something that would benefit many thousands of people if the tram service was extended to Crystal Palace.”

I would urge everyone to support our campaign by signing the online petition and by tweeting the Mayor of London on November 14.”

There are a variety of different options available for people to offer their support.

Sign the online petition at www.ipetitions.com/petition/say-yes-to-the-crystal-palace-tram-extension/ and share the link via e-mail, Facebook and Twitter.
