Crystal Palace have been awarded just £700,000 for teenage starlet John Bostock by a football league transfer tribunal.
The fee for the 16-year-old could rise to £1.25m but the figure falls a long way short of the £5m valuation that has been placed on the midfielder in the past.
Bostock, the youngest player in Palace's history, chose to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer rather than sign professional terms with the Eagles.
The two clubs could not agree a fee however which is why it went to the tribunal yesterday.
Manager Neil Warnock represented Palace and is believed to have asked for an initial £2m, with a further £2.5m when Bostock made 40 appearances for the White Hart Lane club, and quoted fees such as the £5m Arsenal paid for Aaron Ramsey this summer.
