Officers have been given an extra 36 hours to question five people arrested in connection with the murder of a teen in Thornton Heath.
Shakilus Townsend, of Tanners Hill, Deptford, was attacked at around 1.45pm on Thursday.
The 16-year-old, known as Shaki to his family, was stabbed and hit around the head with a baseball bat in Beulah Crescent, Thornton Heath.
He died just after midnight on Friday.
Three teenage boys, aged 16, 17 and 18 and a 16-year-old girl were arrested along with a 22-year-old man.
Magistrates granted police the warrant for further detention at Sutton Magistrates' Court this afternoon.
