Firefighters have put out a factory blaze in Thornton Heath.
A spokesman confirmed that crews from Croydon and Woodside stations had surround the blaze, which began around 1.04pm today in Heath Road, by 3.07pm.
Residents were evacuated from their homes and a 200m cordon erected after it was discovered that potentially explosive argon cylinders were involved.
But the London Fire Brigade spokesman confirmed the fire was out and because the cylinders had cooled the cordon had been reduced to just the factory's perimeter.
Six fire engines and 30 firefighters fought the fire that broke out in the two-storey building's ground floor.
