Croydon-born hypnotist Derren Brown has hit back at criticism he put a kitten's life at risk during a stunt for his Channel 4 show.
Brown, 37, attracted criticism from the Cats Protection charity for the stunt during Trick or Treat in which a woman was convinced to hook the animal up to an "electrocution machine".
But Brown said the machine was deactivated and he would never have allowed the cat to be hurt.
"The cat was never electrocuted and the machine wasn't wired up, so maybe they've misunderstood what was going on," Brown said.
"I wasn't glorifying cruelty to cats. People would have been hard-pressed to recreate the electrocution device at home even if they wanted to."
Jesus.. you cant even pretend to frazzle a cat without someones knickers getting in a twist!
The episode was pretty good actually..
