Teen in court over pregnant ewe's death

A 17-year-old youth from East Molesey has appeared in court with five other teens accused of killing a sheep which was kicked and stabbed with a pitchfork.

The heavily pregnant ewe was dragged through Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk, before her body was dumped in a bin in March.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared with the five others from Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Essex at King's Lynn Magistrates' Court.

The East Molesey youth and three teens denied causing unnecessary suffering and were granted bail to reappear on June 4.

Two others - aged 15 and 16 - are expected to enter a plea at the next hearing.
