Forget all that drama with fellow YouTuber Carter Reynolds and the messy break-up that recently caused a social media storm.

It seems Maggie Lindemann has been pretty busy branching out from creating YouTube videos about her life to making her debut in the music industry.

The 17-year-old who has over a million followers on Instagram and a gorgeously husky voice, released her single Knocking On Your Heart on YouTube (where else??) and Twitter was filled with tears of joy.

The breathy song that speaks about the pain of unrequited love was a hit among her fans, many of whom were welling up.

The YouTube star’s single has that beautifully haunting emotion to it that reminded us of Lana Del Ray.

“It’s about a failed friendship, or a failed relationship,” Maggie told Teen Vogue about her new song. “It’s about losing someone or something that you cannot have back.

“Knocking On Your Heart is about hurting and wanting to gain back something or someone that you’ve lost. We wrote the song with the goal of capturing that feeling, because I’ve dealt with loss all my life and it’s something that’s universal.

“I knew I wanted my first song to touch on that because it would be the best way for my fans and anyone who hears it to get a window into the parts of my life that are more personal.”
