It was the second episode of Bear Grylls: Mission Survive tonight and it definitely lived up to its aim of pushing celebrities to the very edge.

People ranging from Dame Kelly Holmes, to Mike Tindall and Laurence Fox spent time trekking through the Costa Rican jungle learning from survival guru Bear Grylls.

Here’s what we learned.

1. Bear warned us it would, but it got a lot tougher for the celebrities taking part.

2. And in the end it proved too much for Max George from The Wanted, who was the first to be sent home. He admitted himself that he didn’t really do much around the camp.

In Bear’s own words, he had the “enthusiasm” but not the “application”.

3. The decision to get rid of Max may have lost the show a few viewers.

4. Things were getting harder not just for the celebs, but for the rest of us too.

5. This is a thousand times more hardcore than I’m a Celebrity… despite what king of the jungle Foggy says.

He seems a bit jealous to us.

6. A number of people don’t believe that Vogue, as in the model, DJ and Mrs Brian McFadden, has a real name.

7. While others are still unsure whether “Bear Grylls” is Bear’s real name.

It’s not. His real name is Edward Michael Grylls.

8. Some are under the impression that our chancellor, George Osborne, and Bear are the same person.

We have the feeling that the economy would probably be in better shape if they were.

9. Some just don’t like Bear at all.

That might be down to the whole George Osborne thing though.

10. But, despite the comparisons above, people still find him attractive.

11. Although he does seem to have a strange obsession with mortality.

12. Mike Tindall is on the opposite end of the scale, and actually believes that he’s invincible.

Evidenced by him pretty much throwing himself down a wet jungle hill.

13. It’s becoming unclear whether Laurence Fox is an actor or a former SAS officer. Jamelia would probably call him a dictator.

14. Not that anyone particularly cares what Jamelia thinks, she’s been getting on everyone’s nerves.

15. After taking a chunk out of a heart last week, Bear Grylls continued his challenge to put literally anything in his mouth.

This time, it was a live scorpion and he asked the rest of them to do the same. They all did.

16. Kelly Holmes is winning hearts everywhere.

17. Abseiling down a 120 foot waterfall is probably as fun as it looks.

Jamelia was crying before she started but laughed crazily all the way down.

18. But drinking your own pee? No, no. Definitely not.

We’re pretty sure that’s a lesson we already knew, but we’ve put it in here for Bear – who needs to realise he can stop drinking his pee now.
