The Sport of Kings is getting an adorable makeover this month as Epsom Racecourse once again hosts The Derby – for dogs.

The 13th running of the Omni Terrier Derby is on Sunday, August 30, with more than 60 four-legged friends racing over about 50 metres alongside the actual Derby course which has seen the likes of Shergar and Nijinsky grace its hallowed turf.

It costs just £2 to enter your terrier (up to around 15 inches at the shoulder) and there will be around 16 heats followed by quarter, semi and finals.

You can enter online or on the day from noon.

For spectators, entry is free though there is an option to donate to charity. Thus year, the Terrier Derby is raising money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

You can donate by texting BDEX £3 (or the amount you choose) to 70070.
