Crowd en-Skorge-d themselves at RockStock
The Two Twenty Twos
The Two Twenty Twos

The first band to take to the RockStock stage was a quartet by the name of Skorge. They opened the night in decent style, using melodic vocals, pounding drums, and soaring guitars. They were greeted well by the crowd, inciting the usual antics of moshing, and the less usual backflips.

Second on the line-up, but with the atmosphere of the headliners, were Blue Sky Summer, show-stealers of the night. They powered their way through their set, mixing pure energy and feeling with excellent pop-punk music that would not have been out of place at any of the main festivals this year. As you watched them play you could tell they were experienced, as they moved well onstage, and around eachother. They had the crowd's attention since they stepped onstage clad in skin-tight jeans and shirts. They further enchanted the crowd, making fans out of 99.9 per cent of the people in attendance. They ended the set on a high, leaving the crowd dazed and awestruck. Definitely a band that are going to be huge, following the trail blazed by bands like youmeatsix and Kids In Glass Houses.

Death In Vogue were third in the bill, and always going to be a hit with the crowd. They grabbed the crowd with guttural screams, and shook them with the pounding tempos of their songs. They were doing great, even before the Enter Shikari cover, but that just pushed their set even further, and the crowd loved it, moshing and jumping to their hearts' content.

Bringing something different to the night were In Her Eyes, a duo of acoustic guitars. Rather than moshing, this band was rewarded with slowdancing, making for an extremely romantic break. But they were a truly refreshing band, who did what they wanted to, and pulled off a great set.

Second to last on the night, and with the most fans in attendance were 75 Stories. They got straight to work, and fed off the energy from the crowd, as they pushed through the set with tight drums, sound bass and interesting guitar. They even had demands for an encore, which they swiftly delivered with Blink 182's All the Small Things.

Headliners of the night Two Twenty Twos got a really raw deal. They played to a near empty room, as most of the fans had evidently come to see 75 Stories. They are an original RockStock band, and their music screams of experience and honed song writing talent, and they played with lots of energy, and used humour to handle the crowd situation. Those still in the room enjoyed their set, and they ended the night with good music at least.

75 Stories Rocked - and I'm not just saying that because I am the mother of the bassist. They just keep getting better and better!!!!

Totally agree about Blue Sky Summer. A very exciting band to watch with some killer tunes.

Their song "P.S. I Was Happy Before" could be one of the biggest tunes of 2008 if it gets the right exposure.
