Kingsmeadow Live is hosting its annual Battle of the Bands competition next Friday night and this year a father and son will be going head to head.

Bert Brett’s up and coming rockers, Kooler Kings, will be taking on I, Ludicrous, featuring his dad Martin Brett, formerly of Voice of the Beehive, on bass.

I,Ludicrous have supported the Fall and once made an appearance in John Peel's legendary Festive Fifty. Kooler Kings have appeared on John Kennedy's XFM show and are currently recording their debut single. Will it be youth or experience that triumphs? The only way of finding out is by heading down to the gig.

Other bands taking part include On. Trial and Catharsis.
