8:10am Friday 17th February 2012 in Music By Nick Hitchens
50 years to the day after Liverpool’s most famous export made their radio debut, tribute group the Bootleg Beatles kick of their 20 date UK Tour.
Re-producing the unmistakable sound of The Beatles for 32 years, The Bootlegs welcome a new Lennon, Adam Hastings, and are waiting to introduce him to their fans.
The Bootleg Beatles were the first band Adam ever saw perform, even meeting his predecessor Neil Harrison after the show, in Newcastle.
He said: "I had three posters on my bedroom wall – Nirvana, one of the real Beatles and the autographed Bootlegs poster – in my mind as a lad they all had equal status, so to be joining them full time is amazingly ridiculous."
Coming to The Fairfield Halls, next month the concerts will feature The Bootleg Beatles performing their authentic renditions of the greatest songs from the entire Beatles catalogue. They will be accompanied by their accomplished orchestra, who help them faithfully re-create many of the hits the Beatles never performed live.
The Bootleg Beatles, Fairfield Halls, Park Lane, Croydon, Friday March 9, tickets £25 call 020 8688 9291.
