Former Brit-school pupil Adele was the overwhelming success story of this year’s Grammy awards on February 12.
The 23-year-old picked up six awards at the 54th ceremony in Los Angeles, tying with Beyonce for the most awards won in one night by a female artist.
Adele won Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for 21, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Short Form Music Video for "Rolling In The Deep," and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Someone Like You."
Meanwhile, electronic music producer Skrillex recognised the influence Croydon has had in promoting the current dubstep movement.
Picking up three Grammys, Skrillex paid tribute to “all the Croydon dub guys” that started the movement in 2003.
The glitzy award show at Staples Centre was left in a sombre state after the news Whitney Houston had died.
American singer Jennifer Hudson led the tributes with a version of the smash-hit I Will Always Love You.
