What was your first car? My first car was a white Ford Capri. I think I paid around £800 for it which in 1975 was a lot of money. It was bought with the money from my first big modelling contract and my boyfriend at the time stuck ‘go faster’ stripes down the side to make it look more sporty. How many times did it take to pass your test? I passed my test the second time around. The first time my legs were shaking so much that I couldn't control the clutch. I rolled out into a main road and was nearly hit by a bus. My instructor was James Riddle but we all called him Jimmy. I thought this was very funny. I learnt in a Ford Fiesta.

Who would be your ideal fantasy passenger and where would you go? I would love to drive along the coast of France with Alan Carr. The mixture of breathtaking views mixed with camp humour would be my idea of a great day out. What is your dream car? I love the Lexus LFA Sport. I am a big fan of Lexus and this car has style speed and although probably totally impractical for me it would be fun to drive.

How would you describe your driving style? I have been driving a long time and most of my driving is in central London so you have to have your wits about you. I have been told I drive like a man. Not sure if thats a good thing! Tell me one driving anecdote from your past? I remember when I was modelling back in the 80s I was in a traffic jam in London. There was a middle-aged man in a brand new shiny Mercedes convertible, top down, arm on the window, in the next line of traffic. I was admiring his car and he thought I was looking at him. He gave me a big smile and he cruised into the car in front of him. The crunch soon wiped the smile off his face. I did feel sorry for him.

What is playing on your in car iPod or CD player at the moment? I am listening to Robin Thicke and Bruno Mars, but still love some blasts from the past like Steven Bishop and Tony Braxton.

What do you drive now? I have a silver Lexus IS250. I think Lexus are the best value for money. You get all the trimmings as standard and they are reliable, comfortable nippy, and economical. I have had different Lexus cars for eight years now. Can't imagine ever buying anything else. Sam, my hubby, drives a Lexus too.
