A Woman Alone, Tabard Theatre
The Tabard Theatre has marked its welcome return to regular theatrical events with a most impressive start.
A Woman Alone is an hour long one woman drama which starts with a friendly, one-sided chat with a new neighbour but ends in high drama with a multitude of sexual relationships and personal circumstances exposed on the way.
It is a most believable portrait of a woman of great beauty and elegance but who can only see herself in the context of her relationships with men. The whole concept of feminism and her own worth are completely unknown to her.
Yet Daniela Lavender makes her a most sympathetic character and from the moment she starts miming her domestic routines you will be riveted to her story as it emerges. Altogether, it's a stunning performance.
Dramatists Franco Rame and Dario Fo have made a great team and for anyone interested in the up to the minute matters the play covers it is a must see.
A Woman Alone runs at The Tabard Theatre until April 16
