Dancing Queen delights

Remember that hideously sparkly dress and those extra long flares you hid away long ago? Well it's time to get them out again because Dancing Queen is coming to town.

Featuring all the major disco hits of the decade, from Abba to The Bee Gees, the show is basically one big party on stage, fronted by four singers and 25 dancers who go through so many costume changes it's a wonder they find time to sing and dance.

"There are so many costume changes too that sometimes there is more of a show going on back stage."

Nick Wyschna

"We start with the Abba stuff but it's not a tribute," said singer Nick Wyschna.

"We have got more than just Abba hits, it's all the top 70s stuff, like Bee Gees and Saturday Night Fever and even some Glam Rock.

"It's a concert, we just sing the songs, there's no plot around it.

"It's a big party on stage and we encourage the audience to get involved and have a good laugh.

"If they feel like dressing up that would be welcome."

One of the best things from the 70s is of course the costumes, and Nick admitted he will be taking some home for his own wardrobe once the tour is over.

"The costumes are amazing, with lots of sparkle and sequins," he said.

"We get to take a couple of the costumes home with us too at the end."

The Surrey-born singer, who released his own album full of songs from musical theatre last year, was also full of praise for the dancers.

"You wouldn't believe how much they have to remember," he said.

"There are so many costume changes too that sometimes there is more of a show going on back stage."
