Fifty young artists have launched a new exhibition showing size is not always everything.
Polemically Small, in Orleans House Gallery, has made a big impression since it opened last month.
The 50 British artists came together to showcase dramatic landscapes, intense portraits and abstract art on a smaller than usual canvas.
World-renowned curators Edward Lucie-Smith and Xavier Smith have organised the exhibition, which is currently the only one of its kind in London.
Mr Lucie-Smith is an internationally-known art critic and historian, as well as a published poet and a photographer.
Mr Ellis, director of the Charlie Smith gallery in Old Street, London, is also co-founder of the Future Can Wait, a show for emerging artists which will run for the second consecutive year in partnership with the Saatchi Gallery.
Visitors will be able to view the artwork at Polemically Small until September 23.
Councillor Pamela Fleming, strategic cabinet member for communities, business and culture at Richmond Council, said: “This fantastic exhibition has many powerful pieces of art which are small in appearance but big in impact.
“Visitors will be able to lose themselves in these unique and thought provoking pieces which offer many different pieces of art in one exhibition. The exhibition is free and I encourage everyone to attend and enjoy this very unique art.”
Polemically Small, Orleans House Gallery, Twickenham, June 23 to September 23.
