Battersea has a new interactive attraction capitalising on the global phenomenon for escape games.

Hostage Hideout, which has launched at The Grove pub, sees teams of between two and five players solving puzzles in a 60-minute race against the clock to get out of a locked room.

The escape game originated in Japan and its popularity has seen it spread across the world. Friends Mabel Chaces and Meesh Gemmell were both inspired by their own experiences playing them to set up their own, under their Do Stuff brand.

Gemmell said: “The beauty of escape games are their possibilities. Each one is unique and each team will have a different experience playing dependant on their personalities – it is a great thing to experience.”

Games cost between £80 and £100 per team and the games is suitable for ages 12 and above. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
