The Surrey Philharmonic Orchestra will be accompanied by Romanian pianist Andrada Brisc when they take centre stage in Leatherhead later this month.

They will perform a host of classical symphonies, including Beethoven’s Piano Concert no.3, Haydn’s Symphony no.99 and Mozart’s Overture to The Impresario among others.

Conductor Nicolas Smith said: "We are proud to have such an outstanding soloist for the piano concerto."

Born in Oradea, northwest Romania, Mrs Brisc was a teacher in her home town’s art school before moving to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music.

She has a double bachelor in Piano Performance and Classical Singing as well as an MA in Piano Accompaniment. She also works as a teacher in West London.

"I have been working with the conductor, Nicolas Smith, being a visiting piano teacher at St. John’s School, Leatherhead," she said.

"I am very excited about the concert as it is my first collaboration with an orchestra from the UK."
