I write to offer support for the Penwortham Road residents.
I live close to Penwortham Road and I can see the health and safety problem that will occur if planning permission is granted to build flats at the rear of Penwortham and Thale Roads in SW16.
Most of the residents of Penwortham Road are owner occupiers and major overcrowding of car space will occur.

It will also have a detrimental effect on small businesses in Thale Road. The barber, baker, toy shop and dry cleaners will be at risk if a fire occurred because there is no back exit.
This will also be a problem for the families who live above the shops. I am glad that our three Wandsworth councillors John Farebrother, Judy Gasser and Claire Clay are opposing this application for five one-bedroom flats.
I also understand that Wandsworth Council's planning department/committee has also rejected this application.
