'A proseperous Heathrow will provide jobs for Spelthorne residents'
A prosperous Heathrow is essential for providing jobs in Spelthorne.
But the councillors, in betting everything on its limitless expansion, are blind to the glaring need to diversify our local economy.
They voted their all on Heathrow, but in 10 years time Heathrow may be a shadow of its current size.
As the Staines Guardian reported, public health deterioration figures arising from expansion have been understated shamelessly.
On May 20 next year, the High Court may grant a judicial review stopping night flights at Heathrow. Local authorities all over the south-east claim it breaks EU human rights law - the specific right being sleep.
Ferrovial, Heathrow's Spanish owners, has sacked its chief executive. The company's debt (over £9billion) is out of control.

Threatening our Civil Aviation Authority with selling off Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted unless increased landing charges were imposed worked.
The aviation authority has agreed to increases of up to 25 per cent. These increases are to be added to passengers' ticket prices at once.
Easyjet and BMI forecast a fall in demand.
Ferry and rail companies are determined to benefit from Heathrow's discomfort. The ferries report over 400,000 extra bookings and Eurostar advertises "Heathrow Hassle Avoidance" in excursions all over Europe.
The councillors vote for expansion is defendable even if it is a compete betrayal of their manifesto promise to oppose it.
But it is a disgrace that the Conservatives choose to plan no contingency measures, as the clouds gather over Heathrow.
Their neglect risks Spelthorne resembling a mining town after its pit was Thatchered.

"Heathrow Expansion is Indefensible" would appear to be a more appropriate headline for this letter.
Expansion will not protect the employment at Heathrow of the current local population.
Any new job opportunities are likely, on recently reported national trends, to be filled by incomers to the area from outside the UK. That, again on recently reported trends, could lead to lower wage rates and the displacement of current Heathrow workers.
