The circus is the greatest show on earth, but if you don't have a local circus then come to Spelthorne's full council meeting every month.
At the meeting on February 21, the people there had one objective, to disrupt ordered local Government by raising irrelevant items to take the meeting past midnight.
Someone was also trying to destroy the Local Development Framework (LDF) in favour of developers.

The document that tries to set a rationale on how development can take place in Spelthorne has already been savaged by the piranhas at national Government in trying to force us to promise to build on greenbelt land to cope with the irrational influx of immigrants.
The tightrope walkers disputed the 2008/9 budget which is only an estimate of what is needed to run the services.
If you want to save money it is expenditure you monitor, they fell off the rope.
The roustabouts were on show - calling for every decision to be a named vote to waste more time and raising items that should have been raised in committee just for a laugh.
If they had not opted out of where the work is done they would have had more success.
Do your readers actually pay them to do this?
Delusions of grandeur spring to mind.
Democracy is at stake, but the civilised members held on by becoming even more polite and won the day.
Civilisation depends on ordered Government. That is why we have so much antisocial behaviour. Anyway these are my opinions, come and see for yourself and judge.
