Please be advised of my concerns for the local economy resulting from the proposed closure of Woodthorpe Road post office in Ashford.
Ashford is already suffering due to the absence of the high street post office, which closed some months ago.
The removal of this further post office will severely damage the retailers and will reduce commerce in the town. I am also concerned that the distance recorded in the minimum access report to the other Ashford post office in Feltham Hill Road is inaccurate.

Given the road layout and junctions, it is unreasonable to expect the residents of Ashford to make this journey, or indeed to travel to the Edinburgh Drive post office.
All three facilities are subject to the same travel provision, yet this is not recorded for Woodthorpe Road on the minimum access report.
I feel that this vital post office has been unfairly considered for closure and ask you to revisit the criteria and take into account the detrimental effect that the removal would have on this fragile London fringe town.
