Think again over ‘stealth tax’ waste scheme

I could not agree more with Mrs Sawyer that the council must rethink its waste scheme.

I think this council has had its day; it promises to keep the council tax down below Government recommendations and then brings in this stealth tax through the back door.

It wastes money digging up road humps then re-laying them and I can remember the traffic calming scheme in Woodmansterne Lane, every type of road calming device you can name put down then dug up at a cost of goodness knows what.

I now hear that the Lib Dems are going to treat themselves with a personal laptop computer each, plus all the trimmings, connections in their homes etc.

I think this council is treating Sutton taxpayers with utter contempt to charge £35 per bag for a garden waste scheme when spending money like water.

Of course, this type of extravagance is nothing new.

Who remembers the great Carshalton one-way system fiasco from about 20 years ago? Thousands of pounds spent installing a gyratory system all around Carshalton and six weeks later thousands of pounds spent taking it all out again.

My vote will defiantly go to the Conservatives.
