Today, a severely disabled friend aged 88 asked me to drive him to Sutton High Street where he had an optician's appointment.
I duly parked in a "disabled only" bay in St Nicholas Road, near Woolworths.
My friend put his disabled badge showing the correct time on my dashboard.

On our return one hour later, we were horrified to see a parking fine notification.
Quite fortuitously we managed to see the issuing warden, who informed us that my friend had displayed his photograph and not a serial number, which was on the reverse side of the badge.
He, the warden, then stated he had phoned "Central" and they told him to go ahead and issue the parking fine of £100 - £50 if paid within two weeks.
Bearing in mind that he often calls on friends to help out, never before has such a "demeanour" been so savagely punished
This is a travesty, and I for one cannot wait for the local elections to try and rid Sutton of these gestapo-like tactics.
It's difficult to comment on this particular case, but generally, we all know that parking tickets are used as a way to steal from the public.
Something quite rotten and nasty has happened to the UK and I am sure I am not alone in hoping that one day we just might get a government who are not parasites, corrupt or incompetent. A government that will reverse the trend that is turning us all into slaves to the state.
We will know when that day comes, because one of the things they will do is scrap the present parking control scam that is a very poorly disguised, most disgusting and filthy corrupt fraud machine infested with parasites, bleeding honest decent people dry.
I won't hold my breath.

Well, surprise, surprise ?!
I'm not surprised at anything the scum who dress up in traffic warden uniforms get up to to reach their quota ... target .. or bonus amount of tickets issued ? You would have to be a moron or an imbecile not to know why parking tickets get issued and keeping the roads unblocked or safe isn't one of them. I only wish these "SCABS" that patrol our streets unmercilessly causing misery get deported back to the little mud hut villages in Africa where they came from. They have no morals so it doesn't matter to them if you’re an 88 year old severely disabled man or woman.
Our councils have to fine us in order to pay for all the money they squander that we work hard for.
Send every one of the despicable parasites back to Africa ......... and make them paddle ! I have always been against letting these people in in the first place, we (not me) showed kindness and look what we get in return !

The problem with this particular type of infringement is that there are a significant number of false disabled badges. It should only be necessary to send photocopies of the valid disabled badge to the parking department. They should then wave the charge. If they don't, they will be in contravention of section 10 of the Secretary of State's Parking Guidance. In that circumstance, one would be quite justified in being outraged.
It has to be noted that Councils do use their powers of parking enforcement as a means of income, they do act unlawfully, they are more interested in money than in propper parking enforcement and it is my experience that they are prepared to act criminally as well, in their persuit of money.
