7:20am Monday 19th December 2011 in Sutton By Matt Watts
Around 30 people turned up to plant trees at Cheam Recreation Ground over a weekend.
Children as young as two years old and people well into their 70s planted over 50 trees from the 3-4 of December.
The Copse will be known as Jubilee Copse, to mark the Queens Diamond Jubilee and will form part of Cheam’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Volunteers also helped Sutton Council plant trees in Beddington Park.
The saplings were planted as a collaboration between the Beddington Park walkers and 6th Carshalton Rainbows
