Good going green

Students at Kingston University will be encouraged to join the green bandwagon at the Freshers' Fair today.

As part of good going week, students will receive cycle maps, advice on travelling at night and will be invited to sign "good going" pledges.

The university's new liftshare scheme will also be launched, encouraging students who drive to take other students as passengers.

Swimmers at Kingfisher Pool in Kingston will be rewarded for warming up on Sunday, September 24.

As the final event of good going week, from 8.30am to noon, the Kingston Road Safety and Travel Awareness Unit will give out goodies to people who warm up for 60 seconds on their step machine or work out mats.

The day is to promote walking or cycling to the gym or the pool instead of getting in the car.

Transport and fleet managers are invited to learn more about the advantages of bio-diesel rather than petrol-diesel.

Greater London Authority-funded organisation Enhance will host an event on Thursday, September 28, at 3.45pm at the Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London, WC1.

To register, contact Katie Galbraith on katie@londonremade.com, or call 020 7061 6372.
