Teachers are being encouraged to hop on a bike to travel to and from work.
Richmond Council is using £19,000 acquired through Transport for London's Smarter Travel scheme to supply 16 schools with 65 bicycles as part of a pilot scheme.
The council will provide teachers with helmets, clothing and cycle locks, as well as a regular bike maintenance service.

The bicycles will be the school's property and will be passed to future employees.
Cabinet member for traffic, transport and parking Councillor David Trigg said: "Teachers are role models for the school community and their efforts are likely to encourage others to follow suit."
If successful more schools in the area could benefit from the scheme.
