Brush strokes: Sarah Hubert with Rojana Karunakaren get to work on the colourful mural
Budding artists have brightened up their school with an eco-friendly mural featuring their favourite book characters.
The pupils at Bond Primary were helped by local artist Sarah Hubert. After a competition to find the best designs, one winner from each class had their design put on the wall. And every child picked up a brush to help with the painting.
Mitcham company Self-Coat donated the paint used in the project, which was biodegradable and environmentally friendly. The business was highly commended in last year's Green Guardian Awards.
Ms Hubert visited the school last week and worked with groups of children to help bring the designs to life.
The Mitcham Park-based artist runs Dancing Decor, a company specialising in themed murals for children's bedrooms.
