St John Ambulance got green by adding four environmentally friendly cars to its fleet last month.
The Rose Foundation, which provides financial assistance to registered charities, presented four Honda Civic hybrid cars, which will be used to provide essential backup to the organisation.
The cars combine a petrol engine with an electric battery, meaning it is environmentally and financially sound.

It offers fuel savings of up to 30 per cent and is subject to Government tax breaks.
Len Bamber, chief executive of St John Ambulance London (Prince of Wales's) District, said: "These more environmentally-friendly vehicles will form an integral part of our increasing environmentally friendly fleet by helping us to manage and deliver our critical support services within London."
