But Mr Patel returned to hospital on March 8, where he died the next day.

Dudley Edwards Service Manager at mental health community group Imagine, paid tribute to Mr Patel, who has been a member since December 2010.

"Like all of us he had obstacles in his life but in the group he was always ready to help and give his support.

"To think he will now no longer be going with us to see Crystal Palace play is heartbreaking.

"Raj is our friend and we miss him. He will always be remembered by us as a generous and loyal person."

Daniel Bannister has been charged with Mr Patel's murder.
