Kingston College kids get sneak peek into the future

Kingston’s students will get a glimpse of the future this week, when they encounter an electric motorbike and concrete made from tyres.

Pupils from Kingston College will take part in this year’s National Science and Engineering Week on Wednesday and Thursday, March 17 and 18, at the college’s Penrhyn Road centre.

Barbara Rogers, assistant dean of faculty engineering and science, said: “Our exhibition will highlight the key role that engineering and science have to play in leading innovation and progression for the future whilst safeguarding the world’s resources.

“As well as extending these broad themes into the full range of student activities that we do, we are specifically in the process of developing courses in alternative energy sources at the college.”

The event, which will have the theme of alternative energy, sustainability and materials, will take place from 10.40am to 4.30pm.

On each of the two days and members of the general public will be welcome to come and view. For more information visit kingston-college.ac.uk.
