The race to find a place in one of Lambeth's primary schools has begun.

Parents of children who are set to go into next year's reception classes can start applying for the schools of their choice in the borough now.

All applications have to be made before February 1 and there is high demand for places.

Last year all 3,039 children who had their application in before the deadline got a place at a Lambeth school.

The next intake of pupils will take place in September 2010, with children born between September 1, 2005 and August 31, 2006 being those who will enter reception classes.

Parents and carers can either fill in an application form online or return a paper copy through the post.

A booklet with more information on how to apply is available from all Lambeth primary schools, libraries, and the town hall.

Download a booklet or an application form at lambeth.gov.uk/eadmissions or call Lambeth’s schools admission team on 020 7926 9503.
