Tapas lovers can rejoice as a new restaurant has opened up in Thornton Heath.

Taperia, in 785 London Road, officially opened on January 19, and so far things are looking pretty good for the Spanish restaurant according to one of its managers.

"There isn't a lot of Spanish food around the area and we've brought in someone with 35 years' worth of experience to help run things," he said.

"And if you look inside the restaurant, you won't find a better interior anywhere around the area."

But the question on everyone's mind is what kind of food and drink will they be dishing up?

"We do paellas, vegetarian tapas, meat, chicken, ham and lamb dishes," the manager said.

"There's also lots of seafood dishes with sardines, octopus and calamari.

"For drinks we have a lot of the prominent cocktails, but also have some Spanish liquor and gins.

"We're all very excited."
